Making our CSA Accessible to All
Pay with SNAP/EBT
You can now pay for your CSA share with SNAP/EBT! SNAP Vegetable and Fruit Shares are offered at a 50% discount thanks to the CSA is a SNAP program and supported by the generosity of our members. (Eggs are not eligible for a discount, though you may sign up for an egg share using SNAP/EBT.)
CSA is a SNAP is made possible by our participation in the Hudson Valley CSA Coalition and is supported by the Gus Schumacher Nutrition Incentive Grant Program grant no. 2023-70415-41205 from the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
Signing up for a SNAP/EBT Share
SNAP shares are available at all of our Hudson Valley and New York City locations. All of our CSA pages in our GrownBy shop have a category for "SNAP CSA Shares."

Pick your Location and Dates: Add the SNAP Vegetable Share to your cart and select your pickup location. You will be prompted with a list of all possible pickup dates for the season. Please select all of the dates in the CSA season that align with your preferred schedule. You can see more details about this year's schedule here. We expect to sell out of shares, so you may not be able to add any additional dates after the start of the season.

Pick your Add-on Shares: After you set up your schedule through the Vegetable Share item, any add-on shares that you add to your cart will automatically align with the dates of your vegetable share.

Set up your EBT Payments: When you check out, please opt for “per-pickup” payments and enter your EBT card as your payment method. You will pay for your first pickup at checkout. For all remaining pickups, you will need to enter your EBT PIN in GrownBy each week. GrownBy will send you an email with a prompt to enter your PIN the morning of each pickup.
Subsidized Shares
We want to make our CSA affordable to everyone! If you are on a limited income but are not eligible for SNAP, or if you require additional financial assistance for any reason, please contact us at csa@heartyroots.com to request a subsidized share.
Donate to our Mutual Aid Fund!
We invite you to contribute to our Mutual Aid Fund, to help us share our produce with members of our community who can’t otherwise afford it. Contributions will support CSA share subsidies as well as donations of produce to local food pantries and other food access programs. You can make your contribution in our GrownBy shop. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated! If you'd like to contribute a different amount than the options provided, email us at csa@heartyroots.com and we can set it up for you.
