Pay with SNAP/EBT
You can now pay for your CSA share with SNAP/EBT! SNAP Vegetable and Fruit Shares are offered at a 50% discount thanks to the CSA is a SNAP program and supported by the generosity of our members. (Eggs are not eligible for a discount, though you may sign up for an egg share using SNAP/EBT.)
CSA is a SNAP is made possible by our participation in the Hudson Valley CSA Coalition and is supported by the Gus Schumacher Nutrition Incentive Grant Program grant no. 2023-70415-41205 from the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
Signing up for a SNAP/EBT Share
SNAP shares are available at all of our Hudson Valley and New York City locations. We are authorized to accept SNAP/EBT online through GrownBy.

UPDATE FOR 2026: Email us at csa@heartyroots.com to sign up for a share using SNAP/EBT. Sign-ups are currently available for our 2026 Main Season CSA, with pickups in the Hudson Valley at the farm in Clermont, and in Red Hook Village, Rhinebeck, Kingston (2 locations), and Woodstock; in Brooklyn with the Bay Ridge CSA, East Williamsburg CSA, Greenpoint Williamsburg CSA, and Greenwood Heights CSA; and in Manhattan on the Upper West Side with the Rutgers Church CSA. During the sign-up process, you will need to enter your EBT card as the payment method on file in your account. You will then pay for each pickup weekly throughout the season. For each payment, you will need to enter your EBT PIN in GrownBy. GrownBy will send you an email with a prompt to enter your PIN the morning of each pickup.
Subsidized Shares
We want to make our CSA affordable to everyone! If you are on a limited income but are not eligible for SNAP, or if you require additional financial assistance for any reason, please contact us at csa@heartyroots.com to request a subsidized share.
Donate to our Mutual Aid Fund!
We invite you to contribute to our Mutual Aid Fund, to help us share our produce with members of our community who can’t otherwise afford it. Contributions will support CSA share subsidies as well as donations of produce to local food pantries and other food access programs. You can make your contribution in our GrownBy shop. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated! If you'd like to contribute a different amount than the options provided, email us at csa@heartyroots.com and we can set it up for you.
