Woodstock Farm Share
**We are sold out of this season's Farm Shares for this site. Please contact us to be put on the waiting list**
What’s included in a Farm Share?
Farm Share members receive a bountiful selection of just-picked produce, grown naturally and sustainably. The weekly variety and quantity increase as the seasons progress. Farm Share members will receive lots of favorites (such as lettuce, tomatoes, and carrots) as well as smaller amounts of some more novel items (such as bok choy, radicchio and daikon radish). A list of the produce that we are planting is here.
For many members, the connection to the farm is as valuable as the produce that they receive. When members visit the farm, they and their friends and family have the opportunity to connect with the source of their food, and to learn more about sustainable agriculture. All members can enjoy hearing weekly reports from the fields and knowing that they are helping to sustain a vibrant local farm.
How much food is in a Farm Share?
A Weekly Farm Share is designed to provide a family of four with enough produce to last the week. Members can expect to receive 8-12 varieties of produce per week (a total of 5-20 pounds per week). The season runs for 22 weeks, from June-October.
Do you offer half shares?
If you would prefer a smaller quantity of vegetables, you may sign up for an "every-other week" share. This allows you to pick up vegetables every second week throughout the 22 week season. We will assign you either "Week A" (pickups beginning June 4th) or "Week B" (pickups begin June 11th). You must stick to the schedule that you select-- we cannot accommodate switching weeks during the season.
How much does a share cost?
There are two options for a Farm Share:
The price for a Weekly Farm Share is $500 per year, and includes vegetables every week for 22 weeks.
The price for an Every-Other Week Share is $275 per year, and includes vegetables every other week for 22 weeks.
Discounts may be available to those who are unable to pay the full price of a share; if you receive some type of Public Assistance (Food Stamps/EBT, Section 8 housing, Public Housing, etc.) you can get a Farm Share for $10 per week or less, and you have the option to pay with Food stamps/EBT. Contact the farmers about this and we'll work out the details.
Are members required to work on the farm?
Members are not required to do any work on the farm. However, many members enjoy volunteering at the farm and learning more about where their food comes from; and the farmers enjoy working with members and getting to know them better. Hearty Roots hosts several work parties during the season, especially for events such as Onion Planting and Garlic Harvest, which are highlights for many members.
